Two Hands Paperieは、1993年にコロラド州のボールダー で、数冊の手作りの本と簡単な紙棚しかない小さなお店として始まりました。現在では、数百冊の日記帳やノート、30棚以上のラッピングペーパー、カードや本、画材に高級筆記具など、世界中から集めたユニークなギフトなどを扱っています。また、対面やオンラインでのワークショップ、本のサイン会やトークショー、手紙を書くイベントなどを無料で開催しています。

オーナーの一人ミアさんはそう言いながら、さらにトラベラーズノートを扱うようになったきっかけを教えてくれました。

オーナーの一人ミアさんはそう言いながら、さらにトラベラーズノートを扱うようになったきっかけを教えてくれました。
「トラベラーズノートを知ったのは、お客様が使っているのを見たのがきっかけでした。見た瞬間に、そのシンプルなデザイン、機能性、美しい佇まいに魅了されました。そしてすぐにTwo Hands Paperieで取り扱うこと決めました。私たちスタッフは皆、熱心なトラベラーズノートユーザーであります。なので、お客様に説明するときに自分が個人的に使っているトラベラーズノートを見せながら話をすることがよくあります。私たちにとっては、そういった感じで商品の説明することはとても自然なことですし、トラベラーズノートは特に惚れ込んでいる分、より熱心におすすめしてしまいます」
Two Hands Paperie began in 1993 as a small bindery with a few hand-bound books and a small rack of decorative paper at Boulder in Colorado. Today we carry hundreds of journals and notebooks and over 30 racks of decorative paper, as well as cards, books, art supplies, fine writing instruments, and unique gifts from around the world. We also offer creative classes, both in-person and online, and host free events such as book signings, artists’ lectures, and monthly letter writing sessions. Customers tell us how important Two Hands Paperie is to them and how they couldn’t imagine Boulder without us. We couldn’t imagine not being a part of such a wonderful community of creative people. We encourage YOU to pause, reflect, and make things with your own two hands!
We were introduced to TRAVELER’S notebook many years ago by one of our customers. It was love at first sight! We were enthralled by its elegance, simplicity, and functionality and immediately knew it was a notebook system we needed to carry at Two Hands Paperie. All of our staff are avid TRAVELER’S notebook users and this enthusiasm is easily communicated with our customers, often pulling out our personal notebooks to share as an example. It’s easy to talk about products we use on a daily basis and the TN system is one we continue to recommend over and over again for all the reasons we fell in love with it in the first place.

ショップがあるコロラド州ボルダーのシンボル、フラットアイアン山をモチーフにデザインしました。印象的な砂岩の地層は、市民に親しまれている街の背景でもあり、ショップからも眺めることができます。
The design was inspired by Flatiron Mountain, the symbol of Boulder, Colorado, where the store is located. The impressive sandstone formation is also the backdrop for the city, which is well known by its citizens and can be viewed from the store!

最初は、ボールダーのドゥシャンベティーハウスを。精巧で色彩豊かなインテリア、提供される食事や飲み物、そして屋外パティオを流れるボルダークリークの音など、五感を刺激する体験ができる場所です。このティーハウスは姉妹都市となっているタジキスタンのドゥシャンベからコロラド州ボールダー市への贈り物として作られました。西側では唯一の本格的なペルシャ茶室です。手彫りや手描きで彩られた天井、テーブル、スツール、柱、外壁のセラミックパネルなどの装飾は、タジキスタンよりやって来た40人以上の職人の手によって行われました。店内に入るとたちまち中央アジアへ行ったような気分に浸ることができます。ボールダーのダウンタウン中心部に位置し、Two Hands Paperieからも徒歩圏内にあるので、ぜひ一度訪れてみてください。

A visit to the Boulder Dushanbe {doo-shan-bay’} Teahouse is an experience to celebrate all the senses- from the exquisite and colorful interior craftsmanship, the food and drink served, to the sound of Boulder creek rambling alongside the outdoor patio. The Boulder-Dushanbe Sister Cities Project is responsible for this magnificent building finding a home here in Boulder, Colorado. This authentic Persian teahouse is the only one in the Western Hemisphere. Once inside you will be instantly transported to Central Asia with the help of more than 40 artisans from several cities of Tajikistan who created the decorative elements including its hand- carved and hand-painted ceiling, tables, stools, columns, and exterior ceramic panels. Located in the heart of downtown Boulder and within walking distance of Two Hands Paperie it is definitely a place to experience when you come for a visit.

Located one block east of Two Hands Paperie is the Trident Booksellers & Café.This established business first opened its doors in 1980 as a bookstore specializing in new and used books and a year later also became the very first espresso bar in town. We’re not sure how many coffee shops have opened since, but Trident is still #1 with its dedicated following. Grab a cup of coffee and hang out with the locals while people watching inside at one of the tables or sitting street-side enjoying the view.

The historic Boulder Theater first opened its doors in 1906 and was originally known as the Curran Opera House featuring opera, musical productions and silent movies. Today the lineup includes musical acts spanning all genres and cultures, movies (with sound), disco dances, Academy Award parties, lectures, and events. It has featured top acts such as Tori Amos, Krishna Das, Branford Marsalis and Johnny Cash. A favorite local venue to experience the vibrant music scene coming through town along with popular local artists.

チョコレートが好きなら、ぜひ訪れてほしい場所。Two Hands Paperieのすぐ隣で建物を共有しているので、私たちの「紙の部屋」やオフィススペースに充満するチョコレートの匂いに誘われ、いつもチョコレートが食べたくなってしまいます。そうすると、私たちは手招きされるように隣へ行って、オーブンから取り出したばかりのチョコレートを食べます。仕事をしているときは遠慮がちに、ゲストをもてなすときには自家製のトリュフ、ケーキ、クッキー、チョコレートバー、シッピングチョコレートなどのチョコレートのフルコースを楽しみます。

If you love chocolate, then this is the place for you. Conveniently located right next door to Two Hands Paperie (we actually share the building), we often find ourselves in need of a chocolate fix from the chocolate smell permeating our “paper room” and office space. We are beckoned to walk next door and sample what has just come out of the oven. It’s an exercise in restraint when working in our shop, but as a visitor you can easily enjoy their house-made truffles, cakes, cookies, chocolate bars, and sipping chocolate.

Take a stroll in our local neighborhood known as the West End and you just might make this discovery on your own, but we’re letting you in on a little secret as to where this unique art installation of a house is located- just one block north of our shop! This work of art is home to two internationally renowned local artists and good friends- George Peters and Melanie Walker, who are famous for their seasonal and whimsical yard displays and the only checkerboard house in the neighborhood. It’s always worth a trip to stroll by and see what they are up to. Be sure to say hello if you see one of them working in the front yard. We are fortunate to have one of their geometric paper sculptures hanging in our shop. During your visit to Colorado you also might experience some of their permanent public art installations located throughout Boulder County and beyond.
