PROPは、2016年に台湾南部の港町でもある高雄で、日本のクラフト文化をコンセプトとした店舗として始まりました。主に、マスキングテープ、文房具、雑貨を取り扱っています。 また「台湾」をテーマにデザインされた限定のマスキングテープや、職人による少量生産の商品も販売しています。さらに、2018年に世界的に有名な自転車の生産地でもある台中市に2店舗目がオープンしました。
ここでは、店内にクラフトコーナーを設けています。そこでは常連さんだけでなく、観光で訪れた方も、マスキングテープやシール、スタンプなどを自由に使うことができます。また、 国内外から人気なクラフト作家や職人を招き、ワークショップを随時開催しています。日々、地元の方のみならず、アジア各地やヨーロッパ、アメリカからの旅行者の方も訪れています。フレンドリーであることをモットーに、スタッフは、日本式のサービスを意識しながら、日々明るく営業しています。
最初にトラベラーズノートに出会ったのは東京・中目黒にオープンした直後に訪れたトラベラーズファクトリー中目黒です。 ファクトリーで販売されている商品はどれも素敵で、とても個性豊かなモノばかり。一気にファンになってしまいました。トラベラーズノートは、マスキングテープにとても相性良いこともあり、お客さまにいつもおすすめしています。
We hear from the owner, Eimy, about her shop and how she discovered TRAVELER’S notebook.
PROP is a shop located in the southern port town of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and was established in 2016 with a focus on Japanese handmade culture. The shop mainly deals in masking tape, stationery, and miscellaneous goods. They also sell limited edition masking tapes featuring designs inspired by Taiwan, as well as products made by craftsmen in small quantities. In 2018, they opened their second store in Taichung, a town famous for bicycle manufacturing worldwide. Both stores have a handmade corner where they offer cute masking tapes, paper labels, and stamps for customers to use freely. They also host workshops with popular artists and craftsmen from around the world. The staff members are always friendly and operate with a Japanese-style service mentality.
Eimy’s first encounter with TRAVELER’S notebook was at the TRAVELER’S Factory Nakameguro store in Tokyo. She visited soon after it first opened, and fell in love with all of the unique and interesting products sold there. She noticed that TRAVELER’S notebook paired well with washi masking tape, and recommended it to her customers.

PROP台中店から歩いてすぐのところに歴史を感じる建物があります。 地元台中のお菓子屋さん、太陽餅です。 太陽餅は麦芽糖、小麦粉、砂糖、油などを原料に作られたシンプルな味で、古くから地元の人に愛されているお菓子です。ここは、 元々レンガ造りの薬局だった建物ですが 、現在は太陽餅の歴史や作り方などを紹介しながら、太陽餅の販売もしています。週末には若者やファミリー向けワークショップを開催したり、地元若手アーティストの展示なども行っています。台北から高雄までつなぐ台湾鉄道（在来線）の台中駅から歩いて７～8分ほどのところにあるので、散歩気分で行くことができますよ。

There is a historic building just a short walk from the PROP Taichung store. It is the museum of a local Taichung pastry called “Taiyang Bing” (Sun Cake). Taiyang Bing is made from simple ingredients such as maltose, wheat flour, sugar, and oil, and has been loved by the locals for a long time. Originally a red brick pharmacy building, it now introduces the history and making of Taiyang Bing while also selling the pastry. On weekends, workshops for young people and families are held, and events featuring works by local young artists are also held. It is located about a 7-8 minute walk from Taichung Station on the Taiwan Railway (conventional line), so you can take a leisurely stroll to get there.

PRO台中店から歩いてすぐのところにある、第四信用合作社（Fourth Credit Union）という人気スポットをご紹介します。 ここは銀行だった建物をリノベーションしたアイスクリーム専門店です。銀行だった時代に使われていた金庫、カウンター、階段、フロアなどを残した過去の面影を感じられる建物に、きれいなネオンが光り、若者や観光客を呼び集める人気の場所になっています。台湾の代表的なフルーツであるマンゴー、パイナップル、バナナなど季節な果物を取り入れたシャーベット、ジュース、コーヒーそしてタピオカミルクティーなどが提供されています。 暑い日が多い台湾で、冷たいアイスを食べながら、過去の世界にタイムスリップした気分で楽しんでください。

Let us introduce a popular spot called Fourth Credit Union, located just a short walk from PROP Taichung. It is an ice cream specialty store that has been renovated from an old bank building. The remnants of the past, such as the safe, counter, staircase, and floor, have been preserved while stylish neon lights attract young people and tourists, transforming it into a vibrant restaurant. They offer sorbet, juice, coffee, and tapioca milk tea incorporating seasonal fruits such as Aiwen mango, pineapple, and banana, which are representative fruits of Taiwan. If you feel the heat of Taiwan, please enjoy the cold ice cream and feel as if you have slipped into a future or past world.

About a 5-minute walk from the PROP Taichung store, there is a small street called “Second Market” where local Taichung delicacies are gathered. One of the most popular shops is “Yen Ji Rou Bao”, a long-established pork bun shop that has been running for three generations. The signature dishes of Taiwanese breakfast, “Rou Bao” (pork buns) and “Wan Tan” (dumpling soup), are all handmade by the owner. This shop is a favorite of the famous Taiwanese film director, Ang Lee, who has visited it several times.

The Dragon & Tiger Pagodas in Kaohsiung / 龍虎塔（パワースポット）
1976年に建設された龍虎塔は、龍の口から入って虎の口から出ると善人になると言われている、台湾を代表するパワースポットです。高雄の観光リストからは外せない場所でもあります。 「魔物はまっすぐにしか走れない」とのことから、龍虎塔までの橋は曲がっています。魔よけ、幸せを呼ぶともいわれています。 がんばって塔の頂上まで登れば、湖を見下ろす素晴らしい景観が楽しめるのも魅力です。

The Dragon and Tiger Pagodas were built in 1976 and are considered one of Taiwan’s representative power spots. It is said that entering from the mouth of the dragon and exiting from the mouth of the tiger will make one a good person. It is a relatively new construction and cannot be left off the tourist list when visiting Kaohsiung. The bridge leading to the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas is curved because it is said that “demons can only run straight”. It is also said to ward off evil and bring good luck. If you manage to climb to the top of the tower, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the lake, which is also one of the attractions.
