About closing of “TRAVELER’S notebook Users Customize Post”
「TRAVELER’S notebook みんなの投稿」は、トラベラーズノートが発売されて１年後の2007年、ポストカードキャンペーンやメールなどで送っていただいたトラベラーズノートの使い方や想いをたくさんの方々に共有したいとの想いではじまりました。その頃は、日本ではまだツイッターやインスタグラムなどのSNSがほとんど普及していなかった時代で、皆さんのトラベラーズノートの写真を見たり、想いに触れたりする機会もほとんどありませんでした。
開始した当初は、応募作品は決して多くはありませんでしたが、それらを拝読するのは楽しみでもあったし、実際に使っていただいている方と投稿作品を通じてつながることができたのも大きな喜びでした。
その後、SNSが発展し、たくさんの方々がトラベラーズノートについての発信をしてくれるようになり、それらを気軽に見ることができるようになります。ただ、そんな状況でも「TRAVELER’S notebook みんなの投稿」は、温かなトーンに包まれたトラベラーズノートの楽しさを伝える専用SNSのような存在として、私たちも楽しみながら運営させていただきました。
このたび、「TRAVELER’S notebook みんなの投稿」を終了することになってしまったのは、さまざまなインターネットの仕組みが変化するなかで、15年に渡り使用していたフォーマットが使用できなくなったことが理由です。例えるなら、運営していた店舗が入居しているビルが老朽化に伴い、建て替えることになったのだけど、手作りで積み重ねてきたこれまでの内装をそのまま新しいビルに移植できなくなってしまう、というイメージです。
ただし、皆さまからお送りいただいたこれまでの投稿は、アーカイブとしてご覧いただけるよう整えていきたいと思います。これまで投稿をいただいた皆様、これからの投稿を楽しみにしていただいた皆様には、大変申し訳ございませんが、ご理解のほどよろしくお願いいたします。
今後のスケジュールですが、3月31日をもって、投稿を締め切らせていただきます。
4月のはじめに最後の投稿をアップした後、4月末に一度「TRAVELER’S notebook みんなの投稿」を移行準備のため閉鎖させていただきます。その後、今夏よりアーカイブをご覧いただけるサイトを再公開する予定です。約数カ月間これまでの投稿がご覧いただけない期間がございますが、ご了承お願いします。
「TRAVELER’S notebook みんなの投稿」は終了しますが、今後は別の形でユーザーの皆さまとの直接の繋がりを作ることができる企画を作っていきたいと思っておりますので、これからもトラベラーズノートをよろしくおねがいします。
The “TRAVELER’S notebook Users Customize Post” started in 2007, one year after TRAVELER’S notebook was launched, in order to share with many people how to use TRAVELER’S notebooks and their thoughts and ideas sent to us through the Postcard campaign and by e-mail. At that time, social networking services such as Twitter and Instagram were not yet widespread in Japan, and there were few opportunities to see photos of your TRAVELER’S notebooks and share your thoughts with others.
When we first started the contest, there were not many entries, but it was a pleasure to read them, and it was also a great pleasure to be able to connect with people who actually used the notebooks through their submissions.
Later, with the development of SNS, many people began to post about TRAVELER’S notebooks, and we were able to see them easily. However, even under such circumstances, we enjoyed managing “TRAVELER’S notebook Users Customize Post” as if it were a SNS dedicated to conveying the joy of TRAVELER’S notebooks, wrapped in a warm tone.
We have decided to end the “TRAVELER’S notebook Users Customize Post” because the format we have used for the past 15 years is no longer available amidst the changes in various Internet mechanisms. To use an analogy, the building in which the store we operated is located is being rebuilt due to aging, but we are no longer able to transfer the handmade interior decorations that we have accumulated over the years to the new building. However, we would like to make all of your submissions available as an archive. We apologize to all those who have submitted contributions in the past and to those who have looked forward to future submissions, and ask for your understanding.
As for the future schedule, we will close submissions on March 31.
After the last post is uploaded at the beginning of April, “TRAVELER’S notebook Users Customize Post” will be closed at the end of April to prepare for the transition. After that, we plan to reopen the site to view the archives from next summer. Please understand that there will be a period of a few months during which you will not be able to view the past postings.
Although the “TRAVELER’S notebook Users Customize Post” will be closed, we would like to create another project that will allow us to make a direct connection with our users, so please continue to support TRAVELER’S notebook.
