THE T.I.MEは、2016年に韓国ソウルにオープン。その後、2022年2月にソウルの中心、明洞駅から歩いてすぐの場所に移転しました。有名な南山ソウルタワーがよく見える場所で、タワーに登るケーブルカーのターミナルも歩いて15分くらいで行くことができます。オーナーの申さんがショップについて語ってくれました。

「私達の人生は、時間を旅するようなことだと思っています。この世に生を受け、幼少期を送り、学校に通い、仕事に行き、家族と旅行を楽しんだり、友達とおいしい物を食べに行ったり……。全ての生活はこの時間の旅の途上で成り立っています。そして、そのかけがえのない思い出を記録に残すことほど人生において大切な瞬間はないと考えています。 そんな記録を残す相棒であり道具である文具と出会える空間。 THE T.I.MEはいつもそんな空間でありたいと思っています」

さらにトラベラーズノートとの出会いについても語ってくれました。

「トラベラーズノートに初めて出会ったのは、2008年、東京へ出張した時に偶然立ち寄った書店でトラベラーズノートを買ったことがきっかけです。 革製品が好きで目に入ったのもありますが、何故かトラベラーズノートのもつ自由さが凄く気に入りました。 革カバーの傷も自分の人生の一部になり、カバンの中に入れたり手で持ち歩いたり、いつでも使いたい時に使うことができる。 それまで私が使ってきたノートは、決められた様式に合わせて使わなければならなかったのですが、トラベラーズノートは私の使いたいように使えるという点が他のノートと違っていて、それが一番の魅力だと感じました」

THE T.I.ME opened in Seoul, South Korea in 2016, and in February 2022, the shop moved to a new location in the heart of Seoul, a 3-minute walk from Myeong-dong Station. You can see the famous N Seoul Tower from the location, and the cable car terminal to climb the tower is a 15-minute walk away. Owner Mr.Shin told us about the store.

“Our lives are with the journey of life. I was born there, spent my childhood, went to school, worked, traveled with my family, went out to eat delicious food with my friends…
In other words, all daily life consists of traveling at time.
I don’t think there’s any more important moment in our lives than keeping records of our precious memories during traveling at time. So, it is a space where stationery can be used as friends or tools to keep such valuable records. I want THE T.I.ME to be this kind of space .
He also told us about his encounter with TRAVELER’S notebook.

“The first time I met TRAVELER’S notebook was when I bought it at a bookstore I happened to stop by on a business trip to Tokyo in 2008. I liked leather products, so it caught my eye, but somehow I liked the freedom of Traveler’s notebook. The scratches on the leather cover become part of my life, and I can take them out and use them whenever I want while carrying them with my bag or by hand. The notebooks I had used until then had to follow a certain style, but TRAVELER’S Notebook is different from other notebooks in that I can use it the way I want to use it, which I found to be the most attractive thing about TRAVELER’S notebook.”

ショップ近くにある、朝鮮王朝時代の代表的な建築物、景福宮。その門を守る狛犬（ヘテ）をモチーフにデザインしました。

Gyeongbokgung, a representative building of the Joseon Dynasty, is located near the store. The design is based on the motif of the guardian dogs (haetae) that guard the gate.

Namsan Seoul Tower（建物）
南山ソウルタワーは、ソウルを代表するランドマークです。ソウルで最も高い場所に位置にあり、ここから見渡せる都市全域の眺めは、ソウルで最も美しい風景のひとつです。南山ソウルタワーは、1969年にテレビ・ラジオ放送を首都圏に送信するための韓国初の電波塔として建設されましたが、1980年に一般公開されて以来、ソウル市民の憩いの場である、国内外から観光客が訪れるソウル一の観光名所となっています。最近では、韓流を牽引するさまざまな芸能・ドラマの撮影地となっていることもあり、国内外からの観光客が絶えることなく訪れています。

Namsan Seoul Tower is Seoul’s representative landmark and is located at the highest point in Seoul, overlooking all areas of Seoul’s most beautiful city. Namsan Seoul Tower was built as Korea’s first radio tower to transmit TV and radio broadcasts to the metropolitan area in 1969, but since it opened to the public in 1980, it has solidified its position as a resting place for Seoul citizens and the No. 1 tourist attraction for domestic and foreign tourists. Recently, as it has become a filming location for various entertainment and dramas that have driven the Korean Wave, domestic and foreign tourists are constantly visiting.

Gyeongbokgung Palace （宮殿）
景福宮は、朝鮮王朝の宮殿の一つであり、朝鮮の正宮である韓国を代表する文化遺産です。史跡第117号に指定されています。朝鮮王朝時代、太祖が朝鮮を建国した際に建てられた最初の宮殿であり、朝鮮王朝時代の代表的な建築物でもあります。

Gyeongbokguk is a cultural heritage representing Korea, one of the palaces of the Joseon Dynasty and the main palace of Joseon. It was designated as Historic Site No. 117. It is the first palace built during the Joseon Dynasty when King Taejo founded Joseon.
